ICROSS marks Wold Women's day 2015

ICROSS Kenya is marking International Women's day in a series of
events starting on 4th March and  continuing until the 8th March 2015.
  All ICROSS programmes will be marking this important  annual
celebration in a series of activities.  The Country Director D  Ngwiri
will join other organisations from across Kenya on the 8th March.

Over the last 40 years, the United Nations has celebrated
International Women's Day on 8th March. The day has grown to become a
global day of recognition and celebration across the world. Kenya
marks the International Women's Day in a week long celebrations
commencing from 1st to 8th March every year. During this time, Kenya
celebrates the social, political and economic achievements of women.
Participants celebrating the IWD including ICROSS partners are drawn
from National Government, Counties, Civil Society Organizations and
Development partners just to mention a few.

The theme for this years' celebrations is 'Make it happen' - "Hatua ni
sasa! Imarisha Kina Dada."

The IWD celebrations will be marked in Nairobi in conjunction with the
Beyond Zero Campaign Marathon which has been organized by the HE the
First Lady. The rationale for merging the two events I that the Beyond
Zero initiative supports maternal and new born health including
HIV/AIDS which is a National priority for the Governments and also
focuses on issues of Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment. ICROSS
as always will be there respresented by  Danny.

As we recognize the key role played by Civil Society Organizations in
addressing women empowerment and health related matters in the
Country, the NGOs Board encourages CSOs to:  support and participate
in the celebration of International Women's Day and Beyond Zero
Marathon to celebrate and recognize women who have positively impacted
on our society.  Please check out on line our women's  projects and
