Health inequality and injustice Read the report Global Health Summit meeting with me and wonder how in the world unevenly distributed food, health and well-being as well as how to talk to the Minister flopped. If you belong to Development, Heidi Hautala faniporukoihin you might be wise if you jump over the part where I go through his share of voice. University of Tampere, Duodecim, Foreign Ministry and the WHO's Global Health Program organized a seminar on 11 and 06.13.2012 of health inequality and injustice. After getting a personal invitation to this event, I decided to at least participate in the House of Estates in Helsinki on 06.13.2012 organized a panel discussion and the summit (summit). Conference language was English. The event was chaired by Matti Rautalahti (Duodecim), who presented a moderately good the London dialect, one at a time and opportunity for the performers had the opportunity to strings tomeralla commendable manner. Dr. Juha Pekka Turunen, opened the meeting with the topic "Equity, Global Health, and the Finnish Medical Society Duodecim". We got a brief summary of Duodecim activities. According to Turunen, can promote health by training more new doctors, and by promoting research activities and sharing of health information. Sir Michael Marmot - high-good speech Sir Michael Marmot (University College of London) spoke very well on "The Global Distribution of Health and Its Determinants - Inevitable inequity or a Problem To Be Solved?" (Author's loose translation: health world-wide distribution of factors - an inevitable inequality, or a problem which needs to be solved ?). Marmot was important to work together on behalf of the world's health. He carried us through the major health milestones critical relaxed style. Much has been achieved in the UN in the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights through. Instead, much remained to be desired by the 1978 Alma Ata Conference (Health for All), and Marmot strongly critical of WHO's achievements, and also held the Rio Earth Summit meeting in 1992 as quite a failure. He regarded these achievements as an academic discussion, which is far too little political will and action. Sir Marmot noted with concern that the earth between the two countries is so huge differences. For example, life expectancy ratio is at its worst 44-year difference between the two countries! The rich countries do not really understand what's happening in developing countries every day. We have seen a really dark käppyröitä and number of figures on infant mortality, mortality from malaria, the figures of HIV, tuberculosis, etc. diseases. One big problem Marmot wanted to mention. He was a major challenge for the fact that people are living longer also in developing countries. He said the matter like this: "The rich north Grew rich and old, but the poor south is now Growing old before getting rich." (Author's implicit translation: Northern Hemisphere, people get rich and live to old age, but in a poor south, going through parenthood without the prosperity). Marmot told about how the economic downturn hits the most hardest of the world's poorest nations. Marmot got a lot of attention in taking out the gender gaps in education and wages. Still can be found in countries where the status of women have been subjected to considerable inequality and class. We heard a number of successful projects in developing countries, where entire villages and city districts were able to reverse the gloom activity. Marmot dared to criticize the Bank Guarantee in our system. Banks have enough money to afford to enter, but in developing countries live in slums can not afford even to draw water pipe. Marmot raised a huge nasty problem in Europe: youth unemployment, which combined with the increased mortality in their own hand. This should wake up: our young people must be protected! In all countries where there is an unselfish and generous family policies, manages to keep the exclusion of young people in check. Final words this great speech: "A World Where Social Justice Is Taken Seriously" (author's free translation: Let's go towards the kind of world order, which takes into serious about social justice). Heidi Hautala, flopped Embarrassing was observed that the Development, Heidi Hautala did not come in time to keep the speech "Can countries like Finland facilitate Reduce the global disparities?" (Can Finland Countries such as helping to reduce global inequality?) The Minister Hautala was late of course, only a few minutes, but even that was too much. Skarppausta Heidi Hautala! The President did his utmost to alleviate the sense of shame, and to calm the audience. Situation is similar to the condition of a disaster when Hautala speech initially very clumsy in the English language made things worse by telling a bad joke, and too long. Organizers perhaps unwisely left the previous speaker's slide last sight of the speech by heart Hautala read the paper. Own presentation graphics, Hautala was not. The afternoon convincing presentation Dr. Michael Meegan (ICROSS) spoke on "Global Health Promotion and the Civil Society - an NGO perspective Thurs inequity. "(A global health promotion and civil society - non-profit organization perspective on inequality). Cleverly Meegan showed us the words and pictures how each world (hunger) disaster behind immeasurable human distress. Starving child is one of us. In developing countries, to live for people who do not own anything at all in practice. The fact that they are born into poverty, it's no accident. Of slavery and racial segregation by law, poverty is people's achievements and can be removed by human activities through, Meegan quoted Nelson Mandela (Poverty is not an accident. Like slavery and apartheid, it is man-made and can be removed by the actions of human beings. Nelson Mandela ) Meegan called on policy makers to understand the extent of the problem. So far, the lack of sufficient political will to see information or news, the man behind the title. Living in poverty is a daily nightmare for millions of people at this time. Meegan spoke about how the news threshold is no longer wish to be exceeded in the middle of a hunger disaster. Should be a huge disaster before it is written in the press and yet it is part of daily life in developing countries.
