The Founders of ICROSS Dr Joe Barnes and Dr Michael Meegan have both thanked the dedcation of staff and health teams in 2010. It is a tribute to the extraordinary committment and ownership of the work that all the teams achieved so much.
Danny Ngwiri said in Kajiado today that " the amazing commttment of the project managers, nurses, ICROSS staff and health workers was unpresdented. The teams worked even when there were no funds. They continued to come to work every day without pay or benefits. How many organisations have teams that will continue when there is no money. t is a powerful demonastration of the unit and power of a common vision. ICROSS community representative OleLasoi has worked 26 years with ICROSS among nomads and said " ICROSS is a family, we understand and are together"
Dr Joe Barnes writes in the ICROSS Annual report 2010
The past year has been exciting for ICROSS. We met the many challenges together with great success.
We are looking forward to a new year with confidence and a renewed spirit. Many of our field staff have dedicated themselves to our projects for over 25 years. The have worked tirelessly to serve the poorest of the poor. Want to thank them for their commitment and perseverance.
I would like in particular to thank the nurses organisation in Great Britain for their help in the past year. They worked with our nurses throughout the Rural health programmes building improved Mother and child health. The impact of their mosquito net project in fighting malaria has made an enormous difference to the lives of hundreds of families throughout all our project areas.
